Yes, as strange as it might seem to you, only a foreign person, even with a bad English, can explain this speech to you. In science, it is a well-known principle; to observe a system, you have to be outside the system. But let us not digress.
Do not worry, it won’t take long, I will not dissect the entire speech, step by step; I will just pick here and there few sentences, it will do just fine; you can check I’ve not taken things out of context simply verifying the speech transcript.
So, here we go with the sermon, I mean, with the speech:
Fifteen years that dawned with terror touching our shores; that unfolded with a new generation fighting two long and costly wars; that saw a vicious recession spread across our nation and the world. It has been, and still is, a hard time for many.
See the problem here? According to the new messiah, the recession has been caused by the terrorist attacks (9/11). Interesting. I believed the recession was triggered by the US manufactured financial bubble which exploded in 2007. Does anyone still remember the subprime loans, the derivatives … ? According to my “flawed” memory, it was from the US that the financial crisis propagated to the whole planetary system. Revisionism in action?
Tonight, after a breakthrough year for America, our economy is growing and creating jobs at the fastest pace since 1999. Our unemployment rate is now lower than it was before the financial crisis. More of our kids are graduating than ever before; more of our people are insured than ever before; we are as free from the grip of foreign oil as we’ve been in almost 30 years.
First of all. USA is not America, it is just a portion of the North America. No, it is not a “detail”. Second, a secret revealed. One of the reasons the unemployment has gone down is because Obama’s administration modified the way unemployment is measured, increasing the portion of inactive people, because inactive people do not count as unemployed. Another little secret. Young people tend to pospone the entrance in the job market in hard times, by prolonging the studies; people at the college count as inactive, not as unemployed.
Let’s observe some other precious and touching moments …
Will we approach the world fearful and reactive, dragged into costly conflicts that strain our military and set back our standing? Or will we lead wisely, using all elements of our power to defeat new threats and protect our planet?
What an Hamletic doubt. To be reactive and then wage wars; or be proactive and then wage wars? Obviously, to protect “our Planet”. The Planet of whom? Sorry, I missed the memo. When did the US purchased the Planet?
But the messiah has also a caring thought for veterans…
And as a new generation of veterans comes home, we owe them every opportunity to live the American Dream they helped defend. Already, we’ve made strides towards ensuring that every veteran has access to the highest quality care. We’re slashing the backlog that had too many veterans waiting years to get the benefits they need, and we’re making it easier for vets to translate their training and experience into civilian jobs. Joining Forces, the national campaign launched by Michelle and Jill Biden, has helped nearly 700,000 veterans and military spouses get new jobs. So to every CEO in America, let me repeat: If you want somebody who’s going to get the job done, hire a veteran.
The US have a tremendous rate of PTSD and suicide rate among veterans, this is true, because wars aren’t nice for anyone, and the return to home is not always welcomed by the society. Dear messiah, let me repeat; if you do not want this crap to happen, simply do not wage wars. It will make things even simpler. No wars, no more veterans to put back in the civil community. And there would be even other good news; US won’t be forced to spend 20% of budget for military expenses and the Pentagon won’t be forced to give away tanks to the police, as gifts. Just saying…
But let’s see a bit of economics…
Since 2010, America has put more people back to work than Europe, Japan, and all advanced economies combined. Our manufacturers have added almost 800,000 new jobs. Some of our bedrock sectors, like our auto industry, are booming. But there are also millions of Americans who work in jobs that didn’t even exist ten or twenty years ago – jobs at companies like Google, and eBay, and Tesla.
A bit of confusion here, IMHO. Since 2010 the US does better than Europe and Japan combined for a simple reason. A reason that US citizens be better to understand very well.
US made very well because Europe performed very badly. Why? Because. after the US lead financial crisis, many European countries have fallen into austerity and then into recession; why? Because they have been forced on this path by the US rating companies, such S&P, Moody’s, etcetera. The very same companies that failed to oversee the US financial system and prevent its collapse, were bringing down the ratings of European countries, countries which were more healthy than the US. This down-rating made impossible to many EU countries to get money by external investors, and vice versa made it easier the inflow of money into the US system, which was higher rated thanks to the Quantitative Easing policy. And, as if the down-rating had been not harmful enough, the US manufactured the Arab Spring, destabilizing the Mediterranean area; and the recent US lead coup in Ukraine brought to stagnation the entire European industry (yes, even Germany) and the whole exports to Russia. Everything because of humanitarian reasons and because of threats approaching US shores…., of course.
Very emblematic to me, to observe Obama celebrating the car industry recovery; Chrysler has been “saved” by FIAT, an Italian company. This should tell you that something in the “celebration” of US exceptional recovery is fake. After the US lead crisis, FIAT was able to take over Chrysler at discount prices because Europe, and even Italy, had better economics fundamentals than US. But soon after, FIAT had to move out of Italy most of its operations because of collapsing Italian internal market conditions, forced down by the decreasing trust in the Italian/European economic system.
This is the way your country operates, this is the way it leads. If it is not a war with bullets, it is war made of dollars, or oil.
Well I’ll stop here with the dissection of this “speech”. And I will not digress the pathetic and dishonest pandering to women, made of lies (wage gap) and omissions; did Obama mentioned somewhere the declining performances of boys in the education system; what about the fatherless America; and the 1% of male population in the jail system? If he was honest about the “gender” dimension, why did not addressed these topics? Because they do not matter.
These are the times of Social Psychology, dividi et impera, or divide and conquer. Lies and feelings, instead of truth and facts.
Lies, language manipulation, a cheering ground, really a scaring show, a show set-up to comfort an audience so used to be fooled by the media, that is not anymore able to grasp the signs of deception and manipulation.
Politics as a show business, with an indisputable star, Obama, a true narcisist so full of its own self produced image and lies, to have become the perfect actor, with no boundaries left between the man and the role to play.
A man on a pedestal, two protective figures on his back, one on the left, one on the right. In the background a magnificent flag, “IN GOD WE TRUST” above his head. Around him, a cheering unquestioning crowd.
I’ve seen this stuff before..
